HAMA-PA, a “Medical-grade photocrosslinkable hyaluronic acid” developed by bio venture SNVIA Co., Ltd. (CEO K.Lee), has received government certification as a New Excellent Technology (NET). The HAMA-PA material, synthesized based on hyaluronic acid, is characterized by its ability to instantly form a soft, viscoelastic hydrogel state when exposed to light through a crosslinking process. It has broad potential applications, including medical tissue adhesives, hemostatic agents, sealants, radioactive isotope microspheres, bio-inks, and scaffolds for cell delivery.
CEO Kang-Oh Lee of SNVIA stated, “HAMA-PA is a core material for developing photocurable medical devices that reduce tissue damage while enabling simultaneous hemostasis and wound closure, thereby shortening surgical time, lowering the risk of reoperation, and accelerating recovery.” He added, “With this NET certification, we plan to further promote Korea’s bio-material technology both domestically and internationally, while accelerating the development of innovative light-curable medical devices.”
