A research team at Pusan National University is rewriting the history of surgical tissue closure with an advanced medical photocrosslinking material technology. The team has developed an innovative technique that enables instant sealing of the dura mater during brain or spinal surgery. In procedures where incisions to the dura are unavoidable, a specialized adhesive is applied or attached to the surgical site. When exposed to light, the photocrosslinking reaction immediately seals the incised dura while simultaneously achieving hemostasis. The breakthrough marks a significant advancement in surgical tissue repair technology.
